This Event is All Ages From Carson, California, a community south of Los Angeles, Trish Toledo was born into an Ecuadorian-Guatemalan family with much older siblings. Their musical tastes – plus the influence of her father, who was a musician –provided her with access to music that existed long before her time. Although the first music she sang was cumbias and ballads, she discovered that it was the timeless pop and soul ballads that she felt most connected to. “The lyrics were so simple and the performances so raw and clean,” she remembers. While her father’s musical influences permeated her childhood, it was his “musician’s life” that accounted for his absence from the family. Subsequently, when she became a teen parent herself, Trish put her own musical aspirations on hold to offer undivided attention as a mother. In May 2017, now old enough to realize his mother’s formidable vocal abilities, it was her 11-year son that noted the void in his mom’s life, as he encouraged her to reestablish her musical journey. Alongside their now decade plus long tenure as Young Gun Silver Fox where they have built up a growing fanbase which includes the likes of Hans Zimmer, Jeff Lyne, and The Black Pumas to name a few , both have already received plaudits for their individual creative excursions. Braxton Cook
This event is All Ages Braxton Cook is an Emmy Award Winning Artist and one of this generation’s most exciting emerging voices in the Jazz world. Braxton grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. In 2013, Braxton was selected as a semi-finalist in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition. In 2015, he graduated from The Juilliard School where he studied Jazz Composition. While a student at Juilliard, Braxton toured with Grammy Award-nominated trumpeter Christian Scott and became a long-term member in Christian’s band honing his skills on the road. He has also toured and performed with Christian McBride Big Band, Jon Batiste and Marquis Hill among others. In 2017, Fader Magazine named Braxton a “Jazz Marvel” and “Jazz Prodigy.” And shortly after, Braxton was listed as Top Five Jazz Artist to Watch (alongside Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington, Butcher Brown, and Kris Bowers) in the 2018 June Issue of Ebony Magazine. In late 2024 he released the EP “My Everything” and performed on NPR’s Tiny Desk in early 2025. A new album is coming later this year. Since breaking out with his raw, finger-snapping R&B-infused debut Time’s All Gone, he has continued to purvey, with great fervor, a distinctive blend of rhythm and blues, swing, soul, and rock ‘n’ roll. The Dip: Love Direction Tour Part II
This Event is All Ages. The Dip is a Seattle-based Rhythm and Blues band that is known for its poignant songwriting, detailed arrangements, and vintage sound. Featuring a three-piece horn section, the group’s music harkens back to earlier soul and funk influences while hinting at the jazz foundations that brought the band’s members together. Along with singer and guitarist Tom Eddy, bassist Mark Hunter and drummer Jarred Katz are equally at home in a tight-pocketed groove as they are spacious free-improvisation. Trumpet player Brennan Carter joined by saxophonists Evan Smith and Levi Gillis serve as the band’s melodic counterpoint, playing off Eddy’s vocals to create a distinct sonic character that has drawn in millions of listeners to date. ‘Love Direction’, the follow-up to 2022’s ‘Sticking With It’ (which landed at #1 on the Billboard Current R&B Albums Chart) is the band’s fourth full-length studio album and second for Dualtone Records, is out now. This new record is the sound of the band taking their next step forward. The interplay of old and new is on full display throughout the album; and, the group augments their classic sound with an expanded instrumentation throughout. Eddy says of the album’s inspiration: “As you get further along in a relationship, sometimes you lose your way. The things that came easily in the beginning get hard. The love is still there, it’s just that people and life are complicated.
