Blues & Bourbon: Eddie 9V

etix Blues 481101719906026

This Event is All Ages    All his life, Eddie 9V (9-volt) has acted on instinct. Aged just 15, this old-soul artist turned away from the path of  college and jobs to burst all guns blazing onto the roots and blues club circuit of his native Atlanta, Georgia. Flash forward to 2019, and for his debut album, Left My Soul In Memphis, the prodigious multi-instrumentalist simply  powered up the amps in his mobile trailer and with his brother/co-writer/producer, Lane Kelly, laid down one of  the year’s breakout releases, acclaimed as “fresh and life-affirming” by Rock & Blues Muse. “Memphis was a total side project,” shrugs Eddie, “that ended up taking off.”   With Little Black Flies, there’s a sense of an artist coming full circle: the kid who once loitered outside the clubs of  Atlanta now leading Georgia’s greatest players into the studio. Certainly, these recordings gave much-needed  catharsis to the musicians who created them. But perhaps Eddie’s ultimate aim is to pass that spirit on to everyone  who hears the record. “It makes my day to please someone after they work all day,” he says. “My job is to make  them smile and let the music make them forget – or remember.”       Listed ticket price is inclusive of all online fees. All sales are final, please review before purchasing. Canceled: Montana of 300: Rap God Tour

etix Montana 480901719906202

This Event is All Ages   A rapper who went from obscurity to hanging with Yeezy in no time, Chicago MC Montana of 300 spent 2015 adding his vocals to some bootleg remixes and ended the year working with Kanye West. Montana kicked his career off in 2008 with the group 300, who were named after the gladiator-themed movie. 300 were influenced by the South Chicago style of drill music and added themselves to a remix of Chief Keef’s “Don’t Like,” but by 2014 they were broken up and off to solo careers. Montana’s kicked into high gear in 2015 with the track “Air Jordan” and bootleg remixes of tracks like “White Iverson,” “Chiraq,” and “Trap Queen.” Kanye West called the MC to his home to work on some tracks, and Montana made news when he posted pictures of himself hanging with Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin at Yeezy’s home. As the major-label bidding war got underway, Montana dropped his street-release album Gunz n Roses at the end of 2015. His official debut, Fire in the Church, followed in 2016 and featured Kevin Gates on the guest list. A year later, Montana issued his sophomore effort, Don’t Doubt the God, followed a few months later by the Black Sunday EP. With the 2018 release of his third album, Pray for the Devil, Montana cemented a trend he began with Fire in the Church by releasing a new album each year, specifically on May 20th, a date he superstitiously attributed to some measure of his success.     Listed ticket price is inclusive of all online fees. All sales are final, please review before purchasing. GOATWHORE

etix GOATWHORE 480581719906198

This Event is All Ages   “We wanted it raw. We wanted it organic. We wanted it to sound the way we do in the live setting,” relays Goatwhore frontman Ben Falgoust of the band’s latest output, Vengeful Ascension. Their seventh full-length and second recorded reel-to-reel, Vengeful Ascensionwas captured at Earth Analog in Tolono, Illinois (near Champaign, Illinois) with longtime soundman and comrade Jarrett Pritchard (1349, Gruesome), breaking a four-album tradition of working with Erik Rutan.   The maniacal hymns of Constricting Rage Of The Merciless arrived in 2014 and marked the band’s first studio effort to be tracked to two-inch tape, a more challenging approach that demands performance over pro-tooled perfection and leaving little room for error. Boasting a more urgent, ominous and blatantly reckless demeanor than its predecessors, the record again surpassed previous efforts in composition and execution consequently debuting at #81 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart, topping their last entry position of #171 with Blood For The Master. Elsewhere, Constricting Rage Of The Merciless ranked in at #21 on Billboard’s Rock chart, #7 on the Hard Rock chart, and #13 on the Independent chart while third album single, “Baring Teeth For Revolt,” made its audio debut in CBS crime drama series Elementary. Welcoming live bassist Robert “TA” Coleman (Warmaster, Hod), a tireless tour calendar, including shows with Samhain as well as well as a converted performance at Ozzfest-meets-Knotfest opening Black Sabbath‘s final West Coast show, followed. And now, the time for Vengeful Ascension has come.     Listed ticket price is inclusive of all online fees. All sales are final, please review before purchasing. No Refunds.
