Pigeon John and Awol One
This Event is All Ages. Pigeon John Pigeon John is an underground MC with a genre-fusing style and positive lyrics. He is sometimes labeled a Christian rapper because of his hopeful messages and references to God, but with easily relatable subject matter and musical influences drawing from across the spectrum of rock and pop music, he aims to reach as wide an audience as possible. Active since the early 1990s, he made an impact on the hip-hop world as a member of the L.A. Symphony collective, as well as acclaimed solo efforts like 2003’s Pigeon John Is Dating Your Sister. Subsequentalbums like 2010’s Dragon Slayer incorporated more live instrumentation and sung vocal hooks, and he received mainstream exposure as several of his songs were featured in advertisements, including the 2011 single “The Bomb” and 2019’s “They Don’t Make Em Like Me.” He continued delivering uplifting vibes with 2020’s Gotta Good Feelin’, drawing influence from Motown, reggae, alternative rock, and dance music. Awol One Tony “AWOL One” Martin, from a humble and mysterious studio in Southern California, has created a legacy of critically acclaimed music, art and screen printing for over thirty years, growing up on a heavy dose of cartoons, old sci-fi, and monster movies.Musically he has collaborated and toured worldwide with renowned musicians, as well as licensing music for commercials and movies. He has been featured in many major publications, and has received an L.A. Weekly Music Award for best Hip Hop Artist (The Shape Shifters). AWOL One has released numerous records globally and also created a monster themed kid’s book and soundtrack. He is best known for his collaborations with Fake Four Inc. producer Factor Chandelier and Grammy Award-winning audio engineer and record producer Daddy Kev. The band is set to release their 5th studio album on June 20th, 2025, entitled: Tailing the Ghost. Since releasing their debut album in 2013, they’ve vastly expanded the sonic exploration of their recorded material whilst developing a dialed-in, yet energetic live show through persistent touring. In turn, they’ve built a ravenous and loyal following across the country, selling out clubs and theaters throughout the US each year. ‘Tailing the Ghost’ was recorded entirely on the road, with the majority of the songs being cut almost entirely live.
