Chris Pureka is a Portland-based singer-songwriter whose body of work has resonated deeply with these seemingly disparate milieus. Andy has started and employed most of the top musicians in the San Jose, Sacramento, Santa Cruz & Sonoma blues scenes. Folks like Mike Schermer, Rusty Zinn, June Core, Kedar Roy, Junior Watson, Johnny Cat Soubrand, RW Grigsby, Kyle Rowland, Paul Durkett, and Aki Kumar can all say Andy was part of their musical history here. This Event is All Ages What’s thicker, our eyeliner or our guitar strings? The Surfrajettes are a four-piece instrumental combo from Toronto, ON, Canada. Since forming in late 2015, the band has charmed audiences with their clever mix of psychedelic rock and reverb-drenched surf music, sky-high beehives, go-go boots, and eyeliner as thick as their guitar strings. The band achieved viral online notoriety from their home-made performance videos and their feature by Norman’s Rare Guitars in LA. The debut 45 single “Party Line / Toxic” released late 2018 on Hi-Tide Recordings to immediate success. The band has toured extensively in its support, including performances on The Beach Boys Cruise, The Melissa Etheridge Cruise, at Nashville Boogie, Wild O Fest in Mexico City, The New England Shake-Up!, Surf Guitar 101 Convention, Tiki Oasis & Hi-Tide Summer Holiday: Asbury Park. The band released the follow up single “Hale’iwa Hustle / Banzai Pipeline” in 2020, supported by a festival appearance at Hi-Tide Winter Holiday: Pittsburgh. The group spent the rest of 2020 and most of 2021 writing and recording their debut LP “Roller Fink” – in stores NOW from Hi-Tide Recordings. This Event is All Ages Hockey DadWhat began as something to do while there was no surf has become so much more for Zach Stephenson and Billy Fleming aka Hockey Dad. In 2013 the two, who have been friends since early childhood started jamming in their parent’s garage because there were no waves. With Zach on guitar/ vocals and Billy behind the drum kit the two quickly progressed to writing their own songs and had a set together to start playing some shows locally across Wollongong. Ten years on and Hockey Dad now have an EP, three full length albums and a live record under their belt and have headlined tours across Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Canada, the USA and UK as well as played main stage sets at some of the worlds biggest festivals. In the process they duo have earned themselves gold and platinum records in Australia, two top 10 chart positions and a loyal set of fans that have sold out shows at some of music’s most iconic venues. With a fourth album now recorded, the band have been getting back to the stage over recent months with tours around the world ahead of the first taste of the new album due in the back half of 2023. Remo DriveTo find their muse again, REMO DRIVE went back to where it all began: their parents’ basement.
