The Strike
This Event is All Ages The Strike is a three-member band based in Los Angeles, CA including frontman Chris Crabb, Jay Tibbitts (drums), and David Maemone (keys/guitar). The Strike released their debut album “Faint of Heart” in June of 2017, which was met with great enthusiasm nationally. The success of the record allowed them to expand their presence into Los Angeles from the greater Mountain West region where the band started. In 2022 the band signed with Nettwerk Music Group and released their follow-up album “The Lost Years,” which helped them garner national attention and begin touring. The Strike will be releasing their third studio album in the Fall of 2024. The album was recorded with acclaimed producer John Fields (Switchfoot, Ben Rector, Corey Wong). This Event is All Ages New York/Atlanta based band Lowertown consists of Olivia O. (Olive Osby) and Avsha (Avshalom Weinberg). First meeting in math class their sophomore year of high school, the two became friends over their shared taste in music. Since Olive and Avsha were both already writing, recording, and releasing songs under their respective solo projects, they decided the summer going into their junior year they were to form a band of just the two of them.That following school year, they released their debut project, which was written, recorded, performed and produced entirely in Avsha’s basement. The two went on to sign to Dirty Hit in their senior year of high school and released three subsequent projects under the label and began touring with bands such as Wet Leg, Beabadoobee, and Porches.It’s hard to pin down Lowertown as one brand or idea, because their sound ranges from delicate and sentimental piano and guitar ballads to dirty and dejected punk tracks. They have retaine their dedicated, longtime fanbase and captivated new listeners through their eccentric and energetic live performances, ever-evolving sound, and aesthetic. This Event is All Ages Eluding all expectations of the current alternative rock space, Glixen come from Phoenix, Arizona and have taken their sound coast to coast on tour in North America. As influences, lead vocalist/guitarist Aislinn Ritchie cites My Bloody Valentine, No Doubt, and T.A.T.U. In the same breath, also citing heavier acts such as HUM and My Vitriol. Ritchie founded Glixen in 2020 and later added the talents of lead guitarist Esteban Santana, drummer Keire Johnson, and bassist Sonia Garcia.Glixen released their debut EP She Only Said via Julias War Records on August 11th, 2023. The lead single Splendor sets the tone of the EP by masterfully capturing the swirling ambiance of 90s rock, ethereal pop vocals, and fuzzed out walls of guitar all wrapped up in a lacey white ribbon. She Only Said is a cathartic anthem that feels like glitter and thorns down the listeners spine.
