Sheppard: Say Geronimo! Tour

etix Sheppard 485481720340022

This Event is All Ages “Brisbane band Sheppard’s fourth album Zora is personal – from the title down.Zora isn’t only the name of the Sheppard siblings’ family matriarch and Croatian grandma – who superfans will recognise as one of their own, a regular at live shows.”Baba, as we call her, has always been a beacon for light in our lives, always been positive,” Amy Sheppard explains.“She’s had a really, really hard life. She came over to Australia on a ship to escape war in Yugoslavia and built a life for herself here. She worked multiple jobs. She met the love of her life who passed away from cancer when he was only fifty, leaving her to raise seven children. She’s been through the toughest of times and yet she is always smiling, always looking at the bright side.”That positive attitude and unrelenting resilience is imprinted in not only the Sheppard siblings’ DNA, but it resonates all through their glass-half-full pop music. They were finishing their fourth album while navigating Covid, lockdowns, music industry upheavals and personal struggles.“A lot of the songs were about finding that light at the end of the tunnel,” Amy continues.“We were trying to find a name for the album and came up with words like ‘sunrise’ that weren’t quite right. While we were brainstorming Emma’s husband said ‘What’s ‘dawn’ in Croatian?’ So we looked and it was ‘Zora’. It was so fortuitous, we got goosebumps and just believed it was meant to be.”Zora has already been previewed with a run of acclaimed singles: Good Time, Daylight, Dance on the Sun and Edge of the Earth. It arrives as Sheppard have followed through on their goal of relocating to Nashville to capitalise on their immense international appeal. It’s now 10 years since they charmed the globe with their debut album Bombs Away and the wildly-catchy Geronimo – a song which has now had over two billion streams. Sheppard’s journey continues with “Zora,” a testament to resilience, growth, and the enduring power of dreams.”  Listed ticket price is inclusive of all online fees. All sales are final, please review before purchasing. Shing02 & OMA – Luv(sic) Hexalogy Tour

etix Shing02 482271719905891

This Event is All Ages   “Let’s make a 12-inch single together” was the first email Nujabes sent in the year 2000, when Shing02 was living in the Bay Area. Over the next decade, the Japanese duo went on to create the epic Luv(sic) Hexalogy, a 6-part saga dedicated to the goddess of music. Part2 was recorded in the aftermath of 9/11, while Part3 was an ode recorded during the vast commercialization of the hip hop industry. Then the untimely passing of Jun Seba aka Nujabes in February of 2010 led Shing02 to record and release parts 4-6 with the help of Uyama Hiroto, who was Nujabes’ go-to guy for live arrangements. Now, teamed up with the dynamic Manchester-based OMA, and Shing02’s trusted turntable maestro SPIN MASTER A-1, the Luv(sic) Hexalogy will come to life on stage sans samples and full of live textures that the audiences of Nujabes tributes in the past have come accustomed to.     Listed ticket price is inclusive of all online fees. All sales are final, please review before purchasing. “Songs That Changed Our Lives”

etix Songs 482251721753837

This Event is All Ages    This show is a seated  “supper club-styled” show (no dance floor) with four powerful women singers! Each singer will be doing favorite songs from many decades. R&B, soul and blues songs you most likely know from those cruisin’ in your car FM radio days, your “hangin’ out in record store days” Summer songs. Those and many more are the favorites you will be hearing live at the special summer Sacramento Blues Society celebrating our 45th Anniversary. “Songs That Changed Our Lives” stars Chrissie O’Dell, Dana Moret, Pinkie Rideau, and Tia Carroll  We asked these entertainers to choose songs that were important to them from each of the decades the SBS has been in existence. It’s our way of giving a visceral nod to all the years—the 1970s, the 1980s, the 1990s, the 2000s, the 2010s, and now, the 2020s. So many blues and roots music lovers worked hard to make the SBS emerge, last and still be going strong 45 years later in 2024.    Listed ticket price is inclusive of all online fees. All sales are final, please review before purchasing.
