This Event is All Ages Famous Friend Famous Friend is the sun-bleached, indie surf solo project of ASCAP award-winning artist and producer Zachariah Carlson. Born out of the fame-soaked dreamscape of West Los Angeles, Famous Friend began as an alter-ego, a playful mirror of the city’s obsession with image. His music blends washed-out indie surf guitars with sparkling dream pop production and post-punk drums, balancing joy and heartbreak in equal measure. Floats FLOATS is the project of Mark Perez, started in 2017 in San Antonio, Texas as a way torelease demos and songs that didn’t have a place anywhere else. Now based in Los Angeles, the project has grown into a constantly evolving outlet shaped by years of writing, shifting lineups, and nonstop movement. Camp BluCamp Blu emerged from Miami in late 2022, blending indie, surf, and post-punk influences with reverb-soaked guitars and punchy rhythms to create a sound that’s both nostalgic and fresh. Man Man
This Event is All Ages When Man Man released its last album, “Dream Hunting in the Valley of the In Between,” frontman Honus Honus (né Ryan Kattner) was in a state of unrest, oscillating between hope and cynicism. Perhaps fittingly, the album ended up dropping during the pandemic. (We could all relate.) But much like that bizarre turn of global events, the ennui seems so distant now to Man Man’s creative force, whose revived sense of purpose washes through Carrot on Strings (out June 07, Sub Pop), his latest release, which radiates a mix of calm and confidence. Kattner always embodied a wild-man pied-piper vibe: his melodic, art-rock output just unhinged enough that it was at once intriguing and angsty. He was so alluringly creative that you went along with it, even if you were never sure where Man Man would take you. Carrot on Strings is no less inventive, but its ethos is radical in context of the band’s two-decade, idiosyncratic career. This Event is All Ages Hailing from Pomona, California, Alejandro Aranda is a genre-fluid artist whose sound seamlessly weaves together folk, pop, experimental rock, and lush melodic textures. Known for his intricate fingerstyle guitar work and haunting vocal harmonies, Aranda builds immersive sonic landscapes that feel both deeply personal and expansively modern. Never confined to one lane, his music is a constant evolution — each project revealing a new chapter, a new direction, a new leaf being unturned. Aranda competed in the seventeenth season of American Idol after wowing judges during his audition with two original songs. He went on to perform seven original tracks throughout the competition, the only contestant in the show’s history to do so. Aranda’s unique guitar playing style and stirring vocals garnered support as a fan favorite, and carried him to the season finale where he ultimately came in second. The band has organized non-traditional, intentional DIY spaces for NYC youth since 2015, and since expanded that work to a global capacity through their urgent, ceremonial live shows, subterranean punk and hip-hop mixed tours, and their CORPUS NYC platform. The group draws inspiration from all over the world, utilizing Pan-American rhythms including cumbia, bossa-nova, rumba, bolero, tango, jazz and klezmer music. Their unique sounds and the experience of their colorful, passionate performances continues to captivate both loyal fans and new listeners. Named after the patron saint of music, La Santa Cecilia is composed of accordionist and requinto player Jose ‘Pepe’ Carlos, bassist Alex Bendaña, percussionist Miguel ‘Oso’ Ramirez, and vocalist ‘La Marisoul.’With a captivating voice that sings about love, loss, and everyday struggles, the band has become the voice of a new bicultural generation in the United States, fully immersed in modern music, but always close to their Latin American influences and Mexican heritage. La Santa Cecilia’s released their debut album, Noche y Citas in 2011. The album was nominated at the Latin Grammy Awards for the single La Negra. El Valor in 2012 was named one of the best albums of the year by NPR’s Alt Latino. In 2013, Treinta Días was released and went on to win the Grammy for Best Latin Rock Album, Alternative or Urban. In 2016, Buenaventura was nominated for a Latin Grammy in Best Pop/Rock Album category and a Grammy in the “Best Latin Urban, Rock or Alternative” category. Their new single will be released this summer and their 7th album will be released in the fall of 2019.
