Jail Preacher came about after singer/songwriter Jeffrey Wayne left his native Virginia and headed out West to see what he could see. In Sacramento lived a veritable cadre of musical talent in the form of Stefan Sorgea, Nick Cunningham, Caleb Koehn, and Riley Unverferth. Each man among them was a local legend in his own right, built Ford tough, and brimming with God-given talent. From the first practice, those boys knew they’d struck gold. They discovered a divine recipe for Country music alchemy that blends many of their favorite elements of the genre. Everything they love at about the genre can be found on their debut album Sermons from the Delta, ranging from the traditional, to Honky Tonky, to Southern Rock, to Old Time, peppered with a taste of the 90’s radio country music they all grew up on.

To quote Nana: “Oh, Honey, your daddy’s gonna love this music. Call’m down here.”
