Christian Scott has been building toward something big. He has been making a statement through his brass with his last few albums that make up the first two installments in a project he’s dubbed “The Centennial Trilogy.” First came Ruler Rebel, which was followed by Diaspora a few months later. Now, Scott has given us a release date to the album that will give us the projects conclusion. The Emancipation Procrastination will be out on Oct. 20.

The titles are a dead giveaway; Christian Scott is here to make a powerful statement to the world and it’s time to pay attention. The first two pieces of “Centennial” have seen widespread critical acclaim and it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if the final installment receives just the same. Listen to the title track from Diaspora below. Don’t miss Scott when he’s at Harlow’s on Oct. 13. Information and tickets for the show can be found here.
