New Kingston is modern reggae’s family band—consisting of three brothers and their father—and is one of the genre’s most progressive acts. They combine their Jamaican heritage and their Brooklyn upbringing to make music that is not often heard in the traditional reggae realm. Traditional, Jamaican reggae is fused with hip hop, dancehall R&B, funk and a slew of other genres make up the New Kingston sound. Their latest track “Stereotypes” is purely New Kingston and plays out like a blueprint of what this family of artists is all about. Check out the video below.
